LINEN OR CHAMBRAY? SINGLE OR DOUBLE? FIND OUT WHICH MAY BE RIGHT FOR YOU!
Our Chambray fabric is a mix of 55% Linen and 45% Cotton. Chambray fabric has all the amazing benefits of Linen with the addition of Cotton, which adds an element of softness to the sling. Chambray is super soft right out of the box. Chambray not only feels different but looks different. The fabric has beautiful color variations throughout because the yarn is actually dyed before it is woven. Giving each thread line a unique shade of color and adds some dimension to the fabric. Linen being a very naturally wrinkly fabric, the cotton in Chambray helps the fabric not wrinkle as much as 100% Linen.
We love the look and feel of Chambray, while still getting the benefits and strength of linen. It's a win win!
DOUBLE LAYER //
Both the single layer and double layer slings are great for babies and toddlers up to 35 pounds. Single layer slings are light, cool and breathable. Typically people prefer single layers for newborns and smaller children. Double layer slings are thicker and heavier. Each one has two layers of Linen or Chambray fabric. With that thickness comes lots of extra support and comfiness. Allowing parents to wear their children at heavier weights and/or for longer periods of time.
The double layers take a little bit longer to break in, but once done, they get nice and soft like a single layer would.
Linen is a completely natural woven fabric made from the flax plant. Flax fibers are extremely durable and when woven into Linen, become extremely strong. Known to be the world’s strongest natural fiber, Linen lasts a very long time and will never lose its shape. New Linen has a slight crispiness to it, but with time and use it becomes buttery soft.
Linen is highly recommended for children and adults due to its non-allergic features and great microclimate for skin. Linen is amazingly suitable for hot Summer climates because of its cooling and refreshing effect. On the other hand, it has a warming effect in Winter. Flax absorbs sudden temperature changes and has outstanding moisture absorbance. Linen also reduces radiation impact by half and protects from harmful ultraviolet radiation.
There's no wonder why it was our first choice for our slings.
Our Bamboo fabric is a mix of 45% bamboo and 55% linen. Known for its hypoallergenic and antimicrobial properties, bamboo is also highly absorbent and wicks moisture away from the skin. The bamboo fiber itself is filled with tiny gaps that improve ventilation in warm weather and provide insulation in the cold.
Bamboo has a super soft, silky feel right out of the box with a beautiful drape as it hangs from the rings. We love the way it pairs perfectly with the more solid, crisp linen, contributing stretch and moldability for the perfect fit!
